What’s next in 5G

Dr. John E. Smee is a Vice President of Engineering at Qualcomm Technologies Inc. He joined Qualcomm in 2000, holds over 75 U.S. Patents, and has been involved in the system design for a variety of projects focused on the innovation of wireless communications systems such as CDMA EVDO, IEEE 802.11, 4G LTE, and 5G. His work involves taking advanced system designs and signal processing techniques from theory through design, standardization, implementation, and productization.

Mikael Höök joined Ericsson in 1994 and has held various positions targeting the research and standardization of 2G, 3G, 4G and now 5G. He is currently Research Area Director for Radio-research within Ericsson Research and based in Kista, Stockholm. The responsibility covers research on air-interface design, advanced signal processing, multi-antenna systems, radio network performance and propagation.

Peter leads the GSMA Intelligence business, driving its content strategy, commercial strategy, and research agenda. Working with the market’s leading communications service providers (fixed and mobile, large and small), and the broader mobile industry, Peter is responsible for building an understanding of the key trends and technologies driving the market… and translating those insights into actionable intelligence.
